Team Sandra

Ok, I feel the need to comment about Sandra Bullock (even though I don't know her.) I've often thought if there was a movie about my life, who would I like to play me. It's ALWAYS been Sandra Bullock, there was never a thought of anyone else. She just reminds me of myself... she seems real. She seems nice. She seems loyal. She seems like one of us. I guess that's why so many women relate to her. She's self-deprecating, and that's refreshing. She gives a lot to charity, and we all try to imagine if we hit the jackpot, (or, in her case, hit the jackpot in acting) that we would do the same. Heck, if I had the connections (and wealth) she has, I would adopt a wonderful baby too as a single mom.

Being from Texas, we hear her name often since she has a house in Austin, and restaurant too. She used to drive out to the hill country too, and there would be amusing stories of her walking into these dives out in the country. It just convinced me that she's real and not so into herself.
It's the Jesse James thing that interests me the most. She obviously loves him, that's for sure. He's the only guy she's thought that was worth it to say 'I do' to. (Even though his ex-wife is a porn star...) And then, just after they've adopted a baby, and she wins an Oscar, his latest mistress goes public.... real public.
I cannot imagine the humiliation in a regular marriage, but to be so public?? And have a papparazi frenzy follow your every move? And try to allay the fears of your darling step children, who are also horrified with all of the events, even when you're not their real mom. And watch as your entire life is turned upside down... I have an entire new respect for this woman. She has figured out what is obvious to the rest of us, that her husband is a serial cheater and probably isn't going to change. That he risked her life by having sex with 4 or 5 other women in the five years they were married, and could have given her aids or other sexually transmitted diseases. It wasn't like these gals were secretaries... They were all wild childs with risky lifestyles. Yes, he didn't love them, but so what? He has a sex addiction, which is highly irresponsible, risky and disrespectful to his wonderful wife, who happens to be 'America's Sweetheart.' She realizes that he is not the husband he says he was, and thus will not be the father to her new baby that she thought he would be.
It's still hard, real hard to walk away from someone you love. But she knows it's the right thing, and since she's one of us, she wants to do the right thing.
Way to go, Sandra! We're on your side! Keep it up! It will get better.....
