Speaking of strippers (see yesterday's post), I guess I'm going to weigh in on Charlie Sheen too. Why is everybody talking about him? Easy answer... we hate/love to watch a trainwreck. It's like Britney Spears a few years ago. Both of them are adults. Both have a lot of money. Both are celebrities. Both became out of control... We try to imagine what WE would be like if we had all the money we would ever need or want, how would WE react?? Very few people in America make this kind of money... very few... and those of us who have to work hard, raise kids and sacrifice often, look at these types who are just burning money like it's nothing, and are disgusted.

In America, we're free to do as we please until we infringe on someone else's rights. Charlie Sheen makes an inordinate amount of money (he's currently the highest paid actor on CBS), has been through 3 wives with children with each of them, and is CHOOSING to blow it all on porn stars and cocaine. I guess he's free to do that, especially in California who's cops seem to turn the other way when it comes to drugs... unlike Texas, where the cops here go after Willie Nelson for pot, but I digress...

But in the end, as it was with Britney Spears, it's hard to watch. There's nothing we can do. We can hope his family, someone, will step in and get him help...But the guy hasn't 'hit bottom' as they say in Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous. He doesn't think he has a problem. He's doing what the world says is cool - "Sex, Drugs and Rock-n-Roll." He's surrounded by enablers who, like with Spears, are using him for his money, not caring a whit about what happens to him. On the Today Show (which I do NOT watch) but have seen snippets today, one of the porn stars said he was doing so much cocaine that she thought it was a suicide binge. Did she try to stop him? Of course not. She got paid $30,000 and then ran to the media to get her 5 minutes of fame. She said when she walked out of Sheen's house, she didn't know if she'd ever see him again. But she didn't have the decency to try to help him, nor did anyone there except for one lone person, who didn't even call the cops, but a neighbor, who then called them. But then, what do you expect when you hang out with porn stars and druggies?? This guy is only at rehab (which, by the way, they are saying is at his home and not in a facility) only because CBS is probably making him, again, because they too have a vested interest in his successful show. He probably has only a handful of people who really care but he's not listening to them.

Sheen could be using his money to help people; he could really make a difference, but he only seems to care about himself. It's the ultimate selfishness. Not caring about others. Not caring about his kids. Not caring about his coworkers. He's a Peter Pan, devoid of morals or character. He's going to hit rock bottom one of these days.

I just hope it won't take a death sentence to do so....

So now we're hearing that not only are Super Bowl tickets and parking are in demand, but so are.... strippers??! Evidently a call has gone out for an additional 10,000 strippers.... I checked several different stories to make sure this wasn't a misprint in the first story I read, but in fact, they said TEN THOUSAND... Hmmmm that's a lot of strippers. So I looked to see how many the Cowboy stadium holds, and it said that it's expandable to 111,000. So... that's a stripper for every 11 people at the Super Bowl, and that's just for the ADDITIONAL strippers.

Granted, I realize that Green Bay and Pittsburgh are 'manly men' cities, working men cities, beer drinking cities... I mean it's not San Francisco and Seattle!! So hey, we ARE in a terrible economy with lots of people looking for a quick buck.

I'm watching the Egyptians on the news and their rioting in the streets... Fox News says it's because they are unhappy due to their economy, and that most make only $2 a day. In an effort to stop the protests, the Egyptian government killed the internet and cell phones so they could not social network or text. (I'm wondering how they could afford computers or cell phones on $2 a day, but maybe they all share?) Obama just spoke on television, and said things such as the Egyptian government should turn the internet back on, let the people have free speech, and not punish the peaceful protesters. And I'm thinking that here in America, a bill was recently passed giving HIM the power to kill the internet and that we are finding OUR free speech rights being taken away. So he's for all those principles when it's someone else? I was thinking earlier today that if the internet was "killed" in the US for any length of time, our economy would suffer terribly, as most big businesses do a huge portion of business on the internet.

Egypt has been cracking for awhile... the last few years there have been many stories that it is no longer a safe country for Christians to visit any more as the jihadist Muslims have been killing Christians and burning down churches.

It seems the stage is being set...

Evidently the new cover of Time Magazine, (you know the obsolete, in financial trouble, liberal rag owned by Time-Warner) is coming out with the above cover with Reagan photoshopped with his arm around Obama. THIS IS DISGUSTING!! I thought I'd pull a few past covers of these two men, just to show you how the media slants the news as only they can do.

I don't know about you, but Reagan was the best, most honorable president, probably EVER in the United States; and the "state-controlled" media DARES to portray Obama, who will go down as probably the worst president in our history, in the same light??? You cannot GET more opposite men in regard to where they stood/stand on political issues!!!

Oh, I GET it though... the only things they have in common is that they are US presidents and are good orators, but it stops there. Word is, that Obama was reading Reagan's books over the Christmas (I mean Winter Solstice) holidays, no doubt trying to see Reagan's style. Obama probably studied Reagan's State of the Union addresses too, and although I didn't watch it this week for fear of projectile vomiting, I have seen snippets, where he stole Reagan's style of getting a regular schmo off the street, and bringing them into the speech somehow to make his point. His efforts to try to inspire fell flat because it was fake. Read any of his past books, and you will understand the speeches don't match his own words in his own books.

Well, Reagan was the real deal and Obama is the biggest fraud we've ever had.

My youngest daughter is about to turn 14, and she's definitely going through "teen angst..." Oh, you just wish you could fast forward through all of the hard stuff, but it's all part of the process.... There are boys that do like her, but of course, they are not the ones she's interested in. I've tried to tell her what took me years to learn, that it's the guys that choose the girls, and not the other way around. But she's not having it. She likes this one guy, and he's interested in another girl. And she can be real nice or play hard to get, but in the end, if he's not interested, he's not interested. She's buying all the teen magazines, and reading all the stories that recycle in these magazines through the years about "How to get a guy" but I just keep saying, be yourself and someone will come along. Like most of us, she's impatient. She thinks if she buys the special jeans, or the special makeup or has the special hair, that they will become interested. I wish it were that simple... I've tried to give her my other sage advice, to always make sure he loves dogs and watch how he treats his mother, because it shows if a guy respects women, but it goes in one ear and out the other.

I guess she'll have to graduate from the "School of Hard Knocks" --

MY State of the Union Address

Well, it's late January and I'm doing my usual winter 'California Dreaming' and sometimes even Hawaii dreaming. Yes, I do live in Texas where it does not snow or ice up except 'once in a Blue Moon,' whatever that is... It's the time of year where everyone's depressed after Christmas because everyone is broke, the sky is usually gray, there aren't any fun parties like at Christmas time, there's no more 'Good Will' going around, and not even any pretty lights on all these dead shrubs... I find myself looking at 'Earth Cams' and 'Live Cams' on my iPhone to fantasize about being in a tropical climate. And in the middle of the night when it's already tomorrow in Austrailia, I like to look at Bondi Beach since it's summer over there. I know it's only dreaming. California's economy is totally in the tank right now, and it's not like Hawaii really welcomes newcomers to live in their islands. Au contrare, they resent people coming over and taking the jobs and changing their way of life. There's actually a large movement to try to secede from the United States, but I digress. But just know that I can't actually move because I'm too old to start over now. Spring will come, and flowers will come out, and trees will bloom, and the sunshine will give me new hope for this year.

Luckily I can see February coming, and with each month of the new year, it gets a little better.

My son called me last night and said he wants to move to Southern California... I wonder where he gets that...

George Stephanopoulos of ABC News said the same thing during
the 2008 campaign. He questions why no one has acknowledged the
president was in their classroom or ate in the same cafeteria or made
impromptu speeches on campus.

Stephanopoulos also was a classmate of Obama at Columbia -- the
class of 1984. He says he never had a single class with him.

While he is such a great orator, why doesn't anyone in Obama's
college class remember him? And, why won't he allow Columbia to release
his records?

NOBODY REMEMBERS OBAMA AT COLUMBIA!

Looking for evidence of Obama's past, Fox News contacted 400
Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have
been there, but none remembered him.

Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at
Columbia who also graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, "I
don't know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know
me. I don't have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia.
EVER!

Nobody recalls him. Root adds that he was al so, like Obama,
"Class of '83 political science, pre-law" and says, "You don't get more
exact or closer than that." Never met him in my life, don't know anyone
who ever met him. At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago,
who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of
Barack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was.

The guy who writes the class notes, who's kind of the, as we say
in New York , the macha who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a
human who ever met him."


Obama's photograph does not appear in the school's yearbook and
Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia ,
provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or
friends while at Columbia .

Just when you think you can't be surprised any more, a story surfaces from Oakland, California about SEVEN year olds performing oral sex in a CLASSROOM with a teacher present....

I think this country has hit a new LOW... How can this be?!?

There are actually two incidences at this school and both involve the same teacher.

I think this is DISGUSTING... And this on the heels of the new "pushing the envelope" MTV Show, "Skins," which involves sex and drugs and very young teens. Even the promotional photo shows an orgy-looking mass of half-naked very young teens looking like heroin addicts.

It's time to say NO, no more. Censorship for children must return if we are going to protect them. They are inundated 24/7 with sexual messages - in music, on television, in movies, in advertising, in magazines - you name it, it's there. Sex sells and man is it selling.... I know, I have a very young teen. And even though I've tried to protect her in Catholic school for 10 years, she already knows things I didn't know until I was an adult.

This country has gone too far, and it's time for the pendulum to start swinging the other way.

It's hard to get the cat back in the bag, but it must.

My youngest daughter and I have been shopping a lot lately.... I played a little game with myself to look on each clothes tag that she was interested in. Almost all (95%) were 'Made in China.' So then, as we shopped for other things, like iPhone covers, and scarves, shoes, I started looking where those were made. Again, in China. I remembered what Glenn Beck said last week, that in China, they build these complexes, where there is a factory, and all the employees and families live on-site. And many are jumping out of the windows committing suicide.... China is a communist country. They are not free to worship as they please, or free to have as many children as they want, or free to work where they want. I started thinking about these people who are making all of our 'stuff.' They must be looking at all of our many, many clothes and gadgets, and wondering what it's like to live here. China makes almost everything in Wal-Mart. See for yourself. Wal-Mart says themselves that over 90% of their products are made in China. The USA hardly makes anything any more. Women don't sew any more. You can buy clothes cheaper than it is to buy the material, that is if you can find a store that carries material or patterns any more...

When I was younger, the USA wouldn't trade with evil countries. We stopped trading with Cuba when they were taken over by Castro, a communist dictator. So why are we allowing EVERYTHING to be made by the Chinese? And now, they have been buying our debt -- they've been buying the debt of many countries in the West. AND they are now asking to change the world currency from the American dollar to something else. The dirty little secret is that it would send the USA into a tailspin that we could NEVER recover from, not for hundreds of years. If you listen to Donald Trump talking about the Chinese dictator that is in the USA this week, he makes total sense. He says the Chinese are screwing the USA to the tune of what OPEC has been doing to us for decades. And he says we still have bargaining power and should NOT be allowing what is going on. China is in the process of becoming the world's top Super power.

Are we just going to stand by and watch??

Wow... the word "scumbag" is the clean version for blog usage... Today Jesse James, you know the jerk that cheated on Sandra Bullock... A LOT...., announced that he's engaged to Kat Von D, a tattoo artist that has more tattoos than he does. Remember, that just one year ago at this time, he and Sandra were still married and were in the process of adopting a son together, as she was nominated for an academy award. They go together to the Oscars, SHE WINS, and it should be a pinnacle in her life to win an Oscar AND adopt her first child. But then, the gossip magazines break the story that he's been cheating on her with yet another heavily tattooed chic, Michelle "Bombshell" McGee, who by the way, just came out this week holding a large photo of Jesse and Sandra, and licking the Sandra half of the pic.... AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!

But listen to Jesse said today in his announcement to People.com...

"You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs. I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said 'yes.' Growing old with her is going to be a f----n' blast!"

Can you EVEN believe that!!?? Poor Sandra... How awful.... He says he's never met anyone so "kind and loving and committed???" Give me a break!! They've been dating for just months?! Sandy's trying to pick up the pieces of what he shattered, and trying to be a motherly influence for his children from previous relationships, and he's saying he just had the BEST YEAR OF HIS LIFE?? And Sandy probably had, bar none, the worst year of HER life?? Oooooh, there aren't bad enough words in the dictionary for monsters like him. He's amoral (that's worse than immoral; since he's WITHOUT morals...)

I hope he leaves Texas because we don't welcome jerks like that. He needs to go back to his tattoo parlors and roll in the mud, like the pig that he is.

And Sandy? Keep your chin up. Good things are on the horizon...

Say it ain't so!!!

Nooooooo!! Not the end of an era!! Reeeeg (Regis Philbin) announced today that he is retiring from 50 years of television and 28 years of his "Live" show in New York. Granted he IS 79 years old, but somehow he has defied the laws of nature like Betty White, and kept on ticking like the Energizer Bunny.

My mother would have been 79 years old this year and probably would've been like Regis if she hadn't smoked so much... Ooooh I HATE to see this generation getting older and then leaving us. That means that the Baby Boomers will be the old folks - ugh! I find comfort in my parents' generation, and I need to SEE them!

Anyway.... I will certainly miss Reeg... I mean it was my favorite with Regis and Kathi Lee. I know, I know, many found her to be annoying, but I wasn't one of them. They were so cute together with such great chemistry in their friendship... I've never liked it NEAR as much with Kelly Ripa, who oddly, I DO find annoying... but Regis still made it fun and interesting.

Yes, there are other morning shows, but I never got into Ellen with all of her dancing and West Coast stuff. No, I just stuck to Reeg, who, like Johnny Carson, has been on all of my life. It won't be the same without him. It will leave a void. Sure the next generation will jump in his spot, and market to their generation, and Boomers will have to find another venue to see our peers.... Ugh... I dread it.

So, later this year, if I'm home on a work day, I will turn on the morning shows and they will say, "Live! with the _____ & Kelly Show!" And my heart will sink.
