"A hero is a man who is afraid to run away."

Texas lost a good man in Afghanistan this past week and the U.S. lost it's 1000th soldier in Afghanistan... Jacob Leicht was a Marine who had recently returned to front-line duty after a two-year recovery period for a 2008 combat injury suffered while stationed in Iraq. Jacob was born on the 4th of July, was 24 years old and married to his high school sweetheart. A land mind killed him.... These soldiers are fighting for us so that we can be free. We need to stop a moment and pray for them while we enjoy the fruits of what they are fighting for.

I also had the privilege to hear Matt Roever of Wounded Warriors Alliance this week, since they are opening their second location here in Texas for these soldiers returning home after severe injuries. He says they are loaded up on meds and often suicidal, after losing limbs or having burns that can make them unrecognizable. The divorce rate for these soldiers is 80%.... Matt's father is Dave Roever, who is a Vietnam Vet and most of his face burned from a grenade explosion. These men are devout Christians who have started this with no government money. It is all by donation, and the results are nothing short of a miracle. Please check out their website at www.woundedwarriorsalliance.com and if you feel lead, make a donation.
Remember, freedom is never free...
