Well, the media is saying that Rush Limbaugh is getting married (for the fourth time) tonight. My family thinks I'm stupid to listen to Rush every day, but he's become my 'lunch buddy.' When you're in sales and in your car most of the day, the radio talk show hosts become your 'friends.' Sort of like a trucker... but not leaving town.
I started listening to Rush when Clinton was president, and the whole Monica Lewinsky thing happened, and I was appalled at the lack of class in the White House. Before that, we had never heard of a president doing those types of things, especially in the Oval Office. It is so disrespectful and dirty... At the time I wanted to hear others that felt the same way, since so many were saying, 'it's just sex, it's not a crime.' And, as Rush says, he IS addicting to listen to. He has such a charisma and is very entertaining. Once you listen to him, he's not the Attila the Hun, as so many call him. Does he have a big ego? Yes, but also one of the sharpest minds I've ever heard, so it's understandable. The guy is brilliant. He's worked himself up from disc jockey to the most listened to national radio talk show host. He makes tons of money and gives lots of it back... to good causes, like the Marines.
At Christmas when the media said he may have suffered a heart attack, I felt like he was a family member, and started praying. I'm sure thousands of others did too. Does he have faults? Yes, many. But he is lovable and quite the leader by default. He is hated deeply by the left; not because he lies, but because he gets the truth out there and they hate that. They have willing accomplices with the mainstream media, so they are always surprised when they are called down. And with the 'evil regime' (as Rush calls them) that is in power now, it's even more important for voices like Rush to be on the 'front lines,' fighting the fight every day for us while we have our usual duties to perform.
I wish you the best, Rush, with your marriage to Kathryn. If she makes you happy, then I am happy for you. With all the #@^* you put up with, you deserve all the happiness this life can bring you. Mazel Tov!!
