"An army of one..."

Where are the good role models for my 13 year old?? It's reported today that Miley Cyrus is filming a movie with Demi Moore as her mother, as a pot-smoking, virginity losing, bisexually curious teen... Wow. You know we all don't live in California where that is normal.My daughter has grown up watching Disney's "Hannah Montana." It has now run it's course, and she doesn't even like Miley Cyrus any more, but this movie is going to influence so many young girls (and even boys.) It says all of this is okay if Miley Cyrus even plays the part, and don't EVEN argue with me about that one. I also read today that Selena Gomez is sick of being called a 'good girl.' She says it's false any way. Great... What is it with Disney kids and going wacko? Britney Spears is the poster child for that one, with Lindsay Lohan as a close second. I can only think of Hilary Duff as having turned out pretty decent. I mean seriously, Disney should realize they have a problem. A big problem. Whatever they are doing needs to be changed. These kids need to be helped with Life Coaches, or SOMETHING. It's almost expected now that this has happened to so many.
What happened to innocence? Kids these days see so many sexual images in media that they have these early expectations that prior generations never had. It's gotten worse even over the last ten years.
Well, it's up to us to 'just say no.' If we don't watch this stuff, or buy this stuff, it will go away.
It's got to start with us.
