Freaky Fridays

Usually on a Friday, I try to keep it "lite" - you know, Freaky Fridays. TGIF. Let the Good Times Roll. And DD and I did see a cute movie tonight, "This Means War" with Reese Witherspoon, which was a fun Friday movie, but I always write on what moves me, and today what's moving me is Jeb Bush. The article reads that Jeb Bush is saying that it is "troubling that the current slate of Republican presidential candidates are playing to people's fears." EXCUSE ME?!? He doesn't understand how important this election really is??!! He doesn't get it that if Obama wins the next election, we can say goodbye to the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave??? Jeb Bush said, "I used to be a conservative, and I watch these debates and... I don't think I've changed. But it's a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to people's fears and emotion, rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective, and that's kind of where we are." Say what?? This coming from a long line of moderate Republicans who weren't much different from the Clinton kind of Democrats, fiscally speaking. Jeb is not what I'd call a true conservative. And the last people who should be speaking up right now in the campaign, is anyone with the last name of Bush. The liberals are still blaming his brother, and although they shouldn't be after 3 years, they are. So, if he's intimating that he might jump in this summer to save us, do us a favor, and be quiet. This country is in a real struggle between good and evil, and moderates like Jeb will only hurt us at this 'juncture,' (as his father used to say, along with lines like, 'Read my lips, no new taxes,' and later raising taxes.) These candidates are not making up how bad things are, if anything, they are sparing us the ugly truth. Life for many Americans has gotten very difficult, but maybe Jeb just doesn't know that because he's too far removed. We don't need another Bush leading this nation, not now and not later. And they certainly don't need to be saying things like this, that will only give ammo to the Dems later this year. As you might recall, Nancy Pelosi said there wasn't a big difference between the old politicians, whether Republican or Democrat.

Uh huh, that's what we're trying to change...
