Reports today said that more than half of births to American women younger than 30 are outside marriage. How very sad that children today have to deal with this... As a single mother myself, I know from personal experience how hard it is to raise a child with only one adult at home. And yes, there are many wonderful people along the way that are helpful, but it never makes up for the fact that the ideal situation is two loving parents at home, hopefully with the commitment of marriage.
The article I read said "The collapse of the family," but I add that it's the collapse of morals that is creating the collapse of the family. This next presidential election is highlighting the obvious - that there are those who believe that morals are important and those that don't... And it's not just between conservatives and liberals, it's also within the Republican party. There is a division in the party on social issues and it's being played out right before our eyes and ears. It's important dialogue because it will determine how this country goes forward.
