"Guns don't kill people, people kill people."

I don't know about where you live, but in Texas, the subject of gun control is at a fever pitch. And I live in the land of hunters and strong, masculine men who want to be able to protect themselves and their families, so gun sales are through the roof. The liberals are lying (oh, what a surprise) about all of it. They keep saying they won't take away guns for hunting, (including Barney Frank, who had a screaming fit about it this week.) Say what?! The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution CLEARLY was talking about protection when it was written, as it mentions "militia." Besides, didn't they hunt for FOOD when it was written anyway??
Okay, I just looked it up. It was adopted on December 15, 1791 and was tested by the Supreme Court in cases in both 2008 and 2010, where they found (again) that the Second Amendment "protects an individual right to possess and carry firearms." So yes, they weren't going to the super grocery store at that time, many were, in fact, hunting for food in the late 1700's... So SHUT UP Barney Frank, who doesn't have a clue about, well, almost anything.
Anyway, there are LOTS of conspiracy theories going around about shutting up gun proponents, and many of them are kind of scary. But you can't deny that the government is buying up as much ammunition as they can, leaving very little for us. Even the Austin nightly news did a story showing the empty shelves of ammo.
Sigh.
Life is getting pretty weird in the United States.
Uncharted territory...
