"You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequence of your choice."

Okay, so I haven't posted because I didn't want to just put up something less than acceptable - life is just too busy, but after Christmas I can post away. And in January -- I'll be so terribly bored - just get ready for long posts then.
My weigh in on Duck Dynasty? Well, I guess it's all been said. My only comment now would be that it really encouraged me that there were so many people who have FINALLY had enough of this politically correct stuff and said enough is ENOUGH. Maybe it was the tipping point - I certainly hope so. And happening so close to Christmas?? All the more reason to have finally had it with the punks in our society who try to bully us into silence.
Yes, in America we have freedom - to an extent. We are only free to do what we want UNLESS it infringes on the rights of others (hello lawyers) and we base that on Judeo-Christian principles from the Bible. That's our society. We are not Egypt or Saudi Arabia, who have mostly Muslims, and they have a different standard which dictate that, say murder and lying and beating or killing your wife or child as an honor killing, are okay. The United States based our laws on God's laws in the Bible - such as the Ten Commandments, thou shalt not... murder, steal, lie, etc.
In essence we do legislate morality to a certain extent. We no longer legislate adultery as we mildly did in the court of our peers. We USED to sort of legislate homosexuality, with laws defining marriage as a man and a woman and there are still some laws on the books saying that anal sex is unlawful, but Americans have been accepting homosexuality for awhile now. But the militant homosexuals have been militant for years now, and will fight to the death. Now, if Phil Robertson even quotes the Bible on what God has to say about it, then they say it's "hate speech." So now the truth, according to God and the Bible, is even unacceptable to quote?? I read someone say that this story has definitely struck a nerve, and it will be decided on who will define what our freedoms really are.
California pastor Greg Laurie says, "What is being asked of Christians is not tolerance, but acceptance and endorsement of sin." And of course Obamacare has parts of it that say our government taxpayer money will pay for abortions for those that seek them, of which we say no! We will not pay for the murder of unborn babies. NO. Not on our watch.
God gives us Free Will. We have the freedom to sin or the freedom to serve Him. And we have the freedom to choose but don't have the freedom from those consequences. We really do reap what we sow, it's a built in "law" of this planet. Even if we sin, and later confess and truly are sorry, and repent and say we will never do it again, God forgives us, but there are still consequences. If you murder someone, and are really sorry, you will still suffer your penalty from the law.
The same holds true for all sin. There will always be consequences.
It's just that now we have to fight for where the line in the sand will be drawn and what we will and will not accept. Majority rules in our American society.
Choose wisely.
