We Baby Boomers had it really good. We lived in a time when the world was not collapsing and the biggest thing to worry about was getting home by dinner time after a full day of just playing with friends. We didn't have to worry about getting raped or molested or kidnapped, at least not in San Antonio where I grew up. Life really was like the movie, "Sand Lot" where we got up in the morning and played all day long. Back then, summers were from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and we looked forward to them the entire school year. Most mothers didn't work, but even if they did, there were enough other kids and moms in the neighborhoods, that it was still safe. Unemployment was probably around 2-3%. There weren't all of the catastrophic weather events like we have now, or if there were, they were every 50 years, not every other week. There was no internet, so perverts had to go to nasty peep shows instead of clicking on one of the thousands of pornography sites they have access to. There were only 3 television channels with programming that had censorship, unlike the complete filth on today. And there were no stupid reality shows either. Families had a real dinner time and only ate out rarely. There weren't millions of fast food restaurants like there are now, moms really cooked, and from scratch. There were no cell phones threatening cancer, just a land line that everyone shared with no call waiting. Homosexuals were still in the closet. And civility was still considered important. Yes, it really was heavenly back then....
