"If only. Those must be the two saddest words in the world."

With so much about the royal family this week, I actually felt sorry for James Hewitt. Entertainment Tonight found him in living in Marbella, Spain and interviewed him from his Polo Bar. Much to my embarressment, they asked the question again, "Are you Prince Harry's father?" Well, it's obvious to anyone with eyes, but what was he supposed to say? It was 2 days before Prince William's wedding, so they expect him to say, yes I am, and hijack the entire wedding? It's time for everyone to forgive and forget. Charles was in love with Camilla when he married Diana, and continued his affair with her. Diana was very sad and lonely, and had an affair with James Hewitt for many years. He admitted recently that he was going to go on a trip and commit suicide over it all, but his mother intervened. After he sold out Diana, the British press drove him out of town, and he's a very, very broken man. And yes, he's reaping what he sowed. It must have been extremely painful for him to watch what looks to be his biological son on every television all over the world, and know that he cannot be a part of his life ever. He seemed very sad in the interview and I tried to think about what it might be like to be in his shoes.

And it seemed really sad and empty...
