Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Here are my random thoughts while I sit here at work waiting for ad approvals. The politicians are playing "chicken" with our lives. You know, the car game played in the 50's like in the movie "Grease," where two cars charge at each other head on and unless one of them moves out of the way, then they will collide head-on. And the one that doesn't move is the "winner." Uh yeah...
This is what we call in Texas, a "Mexican stand-off." I don't even know where that saying came from, but this is the exact scenario, when both sides won't budge. I'm not saying I want the Republicans to give in, just that it's clear the Democrats won't give in either.
Then we read that the Park Service was told to make this "as miserable on us as possible." And that the Amber Alerts weren't working (until there was a public outcry.) And that the commissaries weren't open for the military (although I heard on San Antonio radio that they will open, probably due to public outcry.)  I heard that this is the first government shutdown where military vets cannot enter the memorials, and it's been clear with the wiring the gates shut, how this regime views the military. And then today saw this, "Obama closes 1,100 square miles of ocean to charter fishing." We've heard that parks that are NOT the national parks have been closed, and places like Mount Rushmore have been illegally closed. And just now read this on Drudge, "National Park Rangers ordered to keep visitors out of privately run businesses."
Regarding the government shutdown, as usual both sides are declaring they are winning in this new "Civil War" that is the United States of America.
United? Nothing could be further from the truth...

2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits, a Dollar...

My sixteen-year-old attended a great Catholic school from age 4 through 8th grade. Last night was their homecoming, and since the cheerleader coach is retiring this season after a long, successful run, they found past cheerleaders of this school from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and the "new Millenium" (which DD was in.) Each decade did a cheer from their era, and some of the newer ones even stunted. Lots of the "old timers" brought their old uniforms in for the current pep squad to wear, and to model while they did their performance. And I did notice that most of these women/girls have taken great care of themselves, and still look great. Many cheerleaders were the mothers and grandmothers of cheerleaders, and it was all in the family. The night made for some great photo opps, and reminded me of what I've told DD many times:

My youngest child, DD, was born at the end of my 'biological' clock. (Actually I had her so late, I didn't even know it was possible.) Her two siblings are grown and gone, and her grandparents passed away when she was a toddler. My brother and sister don't live in our town, so she really has no family around, and gets sad about that often. In our small town, the settlers of this area were big on family, so there are tons of huge family reunions and they pass down their ranches, homes and businesses to the next generations.
DD was asking about her ancestors, and I was explaining the bloodline, and who was married to who. She noticed right away, that the divorces in the family really messed things up and made for weird family trees. I pointed out that bloodlines were very important to God, because He shows Jesus' bloodline, and mentions family trees all through His Word. Actually, blood is very important to God - very, very important. In the Old Testament, the Jews atoned yearly for their sins with a lamb's blood sacrifice and pushed them forward one year. Then Jesus was the ultimate blood sacrifice, as He shed His own blood for us, and pushed those sins away forever. And, if you study what Christians are told not to do, drinking blood is forbidden even today. Thus, the vampire mentality of rebellion for those that choose not to follow Jesus.
Too, bloodlines are another reason to be against same-sex marriage or any marriage that is not one man and one woman. If you look at marriage in God's eyes, it is a sexual covenant (agreement) to be faithful, and seems important to God to procreate. He designed men and women's bodies to join for sex and procreation. And, unlike what Catholics believe, I can read in Songs of Solomon in the Bible, that sex is also for enjoyment for a married couple, and not just procreation as the Catholic church teaches. (Catholics are right in so many areas, but get it wrong here.) My beliefs? If it's in the Bible, I believe it - if not, then I don't - pretty simple, but I digress. My point is that God did not design men to be with men sexually, or women with women. And marriage is important to God; He did His first miracle at a wedding. And marriage is one man and one woman.
Period.

Back in the USSR

To my fellow Americans:
Whether you are for "Obama"care or not, and whether you are political or not, THIS WILL AFFECT YOU. We the People MUST demand that Congress and the President have the same health coverage as the rest of us, otherwise we have become a monarchy with a kingdom and we are the serfs. Seriously! What's next!! They decree that they don't have to pay taxes?? This needs to stop now!! They should NOT be above the law. This is a democracy and this SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED!!!!

Freedom of speech??

As I was driving yesterday, I had the overwhelming feeling to share that it is the MEDIA that we have to go after first. Until we do, there isn't much hope at changing things much like the border talks - if we don't secure the border first, nothing else will work.
There are many bad character, self-serving politicians and they are toying with our lives, and clearly must be stopped. But if the huge media conglomerate who is acting as the mouthpiece for these evil people are allowed to continue, then the masses will continue to be fooled and nothing will change.
The Democrats have the media as THEIR mouthpiece, but the Republicans only have talk radio and some internet but Facebook and even Twitter are policing the social media and either are removing the far-right people from their media sites or restricting the "likes" or how many can follow a page. Many of the far-right pages I "like" on Facebook are complaining about how their page just disappears or the number of followers cuts in half in one day.
These are private companies, who in essence, can do whatever they choose to do. We could demand fairness but it's not like the government is going to come to our rescue. And who will?? No one stops the president when he signs Executive Order after Executive Order. Or who calls him down when he and his administration out and out lie?? No one stops him when he just appoints "Czars" (who are not elected and yet can govern our lives) and even has the balls to admit that's what he calls them, which even sound like regime titles.
The conservatives had better figure out fast that they too need a public relations firm and mouthpieces that can get the truth out there. And they had better retain some top attorneys to fight these things...
