"There's a new sheriff in town..."
Just spent the weekend in Austin for a family member's birthday and Easter. Sigh. I guess I'm just used to my small town where most people go to church and most people are pretty nice as things go. But Austin is so liberal and filled with old hippies (who have now cut their hair so you can't spot them) and liberal transplants from all over the country. It's like a liberal magnet. I saw license plates from every where, and almost all that come, are super liberal. It feels so oppressive. And then the subject of same-sex marriage came up in my own family, and my son and even teenage daughter says it's "different" now and they know lots of gay people at their jobs and schools, and cannot judge them. We are definitely sunk on this one. I made my best arguments and said that marriage should not be redefined, but their eyes glaze over and they say it just doesn't bother them.
Something else that irked me was that most stores today were open in Austin. It was just a regular day for most progressives. (I guess "separation of church and state" is almost complete.) After we got out of my older daughter Alex's church, we drove to Olive Garden bracing for an hour wait, yet got right in at 12:30. It was even less crowded than a usual Sunday. Only a few years ago in Austin, we would rush to a restaurant where an hour wait was normal, but no one goes to church anymore, so it was a moot point.
Even when we drove back to our small town where many stores were closed, Wal-Mart and MacDonald's were open. Can't they close for TWO days a year?? Christmas and Easter?? Come on people! We can do better than this!! I realize that I'm a Baby Boomer and remember when there was NOTHING open on these holidays in cities like mine (San Antonio), nor hardly any stores on a usual Sunday. But things are changing at break-neck speed with the new powers that be, and these powers are anti-Christian in their actions, although their words say otherwise.
I was encouraged by the Christians on Facebook with even Governor Rick Perry posting a Bible verse on the crucifixion, while it was equally noticeable that the libs were extremely silent. Speaking of that, the libs that were in-your-face today were those at Google who chose to highlight Cesar Chavez on the Google opening page rather than anything Easter-ish.
I guess no surprise there....
If you're a Christian, Easter blessings to you and yours...

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
It's Good Friday... I took a day off, telling my boss that it just doesn't feel right to work on a day that means so much, a High Holy day when Jesus took my punishment and died on the cross so that I can live. It never feels right to work today....
Just found out that Kim Jung Ill has a bomb pointed at Austin. Great... But why Austin?? My friend and I said: Computers? Rick Perry? He's an Aggie?? I also added, "good thing I don't have a retirement plan..."
I have't posted since Tuesday, truthfully, because I've been down. The marriage subject has been cussed and discussed all week, and I am beyond frustrated that conservatives are not standing up on this. Where are the pastors and priests???? Where is ANYBODY but a few lone voices in the wilderness?? I GET it that no one wants to be thought of as judgmental our even unpopular. But God is VERY clear on this one. It will be as Roe vs. Wade, and we will never go back. It gets down to what we believe and what the majority in the country wants. THAT'S scary.
I've debated about doing this but here is my discourse on Facebook on the subject:
Me: Definition of the word "Marriage" - the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law. Yes, this was defined by Judeo/Christian beliefs, as all of our American laws are. Are we as a society going to redefine an institution that has been around for over 5,000 years? No one is saying you cannot love who you choose, but we have reserved marriage for one man and one woman. There is no hate here. We don't make the rules - God does.
My daughter's ballet teacher Lisa posted: I cannot understand why anyone would oppose anyone's right to making a commitment to loving another. Isn't that the highest moral goal? Whom one chooses is their business, and and their choice is between them and their concept of divinity, not you, and not the government. Exclusive laws exclude. Freedom for All is at the very heart of the American creed. For ALL means ALL -- not freedom for only the select 'in-club.'
Me: Same sex marriage and Roe v. Wade are similar issues and belief systems steer us. Liberals say abortion is okay with a woman's 'right to choose' but conservatives like myself say it's murder because life begins at conception. You and I agree that one can choose whom they want to love. I say same sex couples can commit through civil unions and have all benefits but marriage should remain as it has for thousands of years for one man and one woman. Family trees are built on bloodlines. Majority rules through the belief system of the country. I guess as America leaves our religious beliefs that we were founded on, these rules will change...
Lisa: One group cannot pass laws to discriminate against another. What one believes is fine until it thwarts another's equal right to believe differently. If one does not think something is right or good, by all means don't do it. But respecting various views is very important to America. Otherwise we would no longer be free, rather we would be dictated to. Dictatorship or theocracy is not what we are founded on.
A friend of Lisa named Austin: Well the majority of civilization at one point felt that enslaving another race was morally and socially acceptable. Time as an argument to argue this point is valid is a moot one. If it is a battle of semantics, call it a "civil union" call it gay marriage, but they as Americans should be bestowed the same rights as "traditional" marriage.
Another dance teacher Regan: My only qualm with the religious argument is that it is legal for atheists and agnostics to get married. Whether or not they choose to.... it's still legal.
Lisa's friend Lois: (directed to my name on FB in derogatory words)... for thousands of years infamy in the name of the Lord have bastardized the words of Jesus through crusades and good Christians burning witches at Salem, etc... so please don't tell me Christians are infallible in their interpretations and belief in a book that was written by "God"... perhaps.. but was interpreted by men who needed to know more about Him
Lisa's friend Lise: Family trees are also built on adoption. Or is that not part of the conservative vision? Because it certainly is an important part of strategy to reduce abortion. Marriage is in no way threatened by calling gay people "married" when they make the same commitments and take on the same responsibilities as non-gay married people.
Lisa: As an adoptee with gay family members, I can safely say family trees are built on love.
Lisa's friend Marti: Very well said Lisa. Thank you for your thoughts.xxoo
Lisa: For the sake of illustrating, statistically it is found that children in same-sex homes and adopted children are less likely to be abused, either mentally or physically than those in biological heterosexual families. (This information comes from current sociological research.) Perhaps this is because these couples clearly chose to have children?) Sometimes biology isn't all it's cracked up to be. I would also cite that step-parenting can be a loving family structure as well, although statistically is not as safe as same-sex or adoption. Hummmm...
Lois again: Ya know... unless you are a concret thinker and cannot see the wisdom and value of symbols, you will always have sheep who follow the lead goat..... when I play with ideas and "what if" I wonder how the symbols fit into what is happening as a nation symbolically... and I caome up with the so called religious right as being symbolic of the "devel" (sic).... who wants to box or do away with the Christ's admonition.... to feed the poor... loving your neighbor as yourself or as you would love your own kids... if you are asked for a dime, give a dollar.. walk a mile in your neighbor's shoes... doing unto others what you want for yourself... I don't find anywhere in the Bible where it says they have to prove they are worthy by finding a non-existant job.. but I tell ya what... the righteous religious right have as their leader devotees of Ayn Rand who proclaimed she was an atheist in a loud and clear voice... more reason why they appear to me to symbolize the 'devel' (sic)...
Lisa: Poverty and substance abuse are the top 2 reasons for child abuse... How does cutting social spending, be it poverty relief, food, education, or mental healthcare ever benefit children?
Lisa's friend Janette: Marriage in the civil sense is really no different than any other contract and while there might be a few residual "public health" concerns (inbreeding, etc) still hanging on to it, it's essentially a financial agreement or ... what's the word... ah! ....PARTNERSHIP, and we all know our government hasn't the slightest interest in whether the individual parties to contracts are male, female or even, for that matter, how numerous. It's only when you give this particular contract a "special" name that people freak out, not because of their political persuasions but because their concept of marriage is inexorably linked to their religious affiliations. Imagine what would happen, if, tomorrow or next week, somebody decided to found a religion in which same sex marriage was favored over the alternative. Wouldn't the federales find themselves in a head-on collision with that pesky old, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" passage in the First Amendment? Perhaps a better question, though, is whether or not the tea partiers and the neo-cons would realize the potential consequences should the government SUCCEED in such a challenge - to THEM! My guess is no.
Me: I think it's great that we all have freedom of speech and can discuss subjects without attacking each other.
Sigh.
A few things. Lisa is a Buddhist and open to anything that comes past her. Many of her friends are psychologists (like you couldn't figure that out.) Notice they attacked the "religious right" from the little I said about my beliefs, and notice the attacking in general instead of civil discourse. At our small town's one public high school, my daughter said people argued about same-sex marriage all week and she deemed it was half and half on yes or no.
If not passed now, it will pass when her generation votes.
The liberal public school's agenda is "coming home to roost...."

God Bless America...
Well, here it is Holy Week for me as a Christian, and Passover today as well.... I need God more than ever. We all do... It seems everyone is stressed more than I've ever seen people stressed as a whole. My ex and my son both got jobs but are underemployed and hate their jobs. My daughter Alex is stressed to her limit working at a poorly run small business in Austin and trying her best to be the best mother and wife and employee as she can possibly be. My son's job pays pitifully and he's on his feet for 8-9 hours straight with no breaks, and a 15 minute slot for lunch. My ex got a job in the dying printing business, where he is unappreciated and demoralized beyond compare, and isn't making enough to even make ends meet. But I'm not one to ever give up, so I'm going overtime in praying, and we will OVERCOME with God's help.
My daily commentary from my twitter comments:
1. North Korea puts rocket units on alert to 'attack US' -- Why isn't anyone talking about this ?!? Why doesn't anyone care? No one is taking this seriously...
2. Egyptian mosque turned into house of torture for Christians after Muslim Brotherhood protest -- why aren't Christians outraged?!? Are we so calloused to all of the news that it means nothing?? Why aren't Christian pastors and priests leading the charge on this?? Why aren't more Christians protesting the Christian minister that's in an Iran prison for evangelizing?? Why are we sending money to these monsters that hate us????
3. Biden's limo services for European visit cost taxpayers (THAT'S US) $321,665. And the prez has taken a lavish vacation for the third month in a row. And he conveniently stops White House tours due to the sequester, but keeps spending TONS on traveling like he's royalty. Speaking of the sequester, the pentagon suspends Thunderbird and Blue Angel air shows... wow.... I mean, I know liberals hate the military and are not proud of them, but this is SO in-your-face...Also regarding the 'sequester,' the federal jobs website lists THOUSANDS of openings, yet tells us we have to shop air shows and White House tours...
4. Mayor Doomberg says, "the government has the right to 'infringe on your freedom' - ummmm, who died and made HIM king??? That pompous jerk has decided to spend $12 million of his own money to fight gun rights advocates.
Ughhhhh.... I'M NOT GIVING UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why fit in when you were born to stand out?
My 16 year old was doing her homework late on Sunday night and asked me, "Is capitalism bad?"
Sigh.
Public schools... I constantly have to re-teach...
Another problem? She is obsessing over competitive cheerleaders. She follows the "stars" on Instagram and Twitter, and they have more followers than "movie stars." One of the guy cheerleaders that all these girls are crushing on, has had to get a bodyguard! DD said that one of her best friends from our town was at a cheer competition in Dallas two weeks ago, and the audience girls rushed the stage like he was Justin Bieber. They are all like clones with their heavy spray tans, heavily sprayed and dyed hair, and skinny with 6 pack abs. They even have to all follow the same diet to look uniform.
We have a sick society....

Thank God it's Friday...
It's been a long week of drama... This was cheer tryouts week at our small Texas town's only public high school - and cheerleading is a sport for only the strong. And I mean that literally and figuratively.
And yes, thank God, DD made it again. The competition was fierce this year - they had lowered the number of girls for the squad - and every past cheerleader decided to tryout again. I prayed that DD would make it - not only because she loves it - but also because it's a wonderful leadership position. Varsity cheerleaders are not only role models for the high school, but for our entire town of 10,000. It's a huge honor, and one that stays with them for life.
We don't take it lightly...

Obama's Reptilian Secret Sevice Spotted AIPAC Conference 3 Angles (HD)
Well, THIS certainly caught my attention since Glenn Beck has it on his web page. I watched this and thought it was extremely creepy. Then I showed my high schooler who thought it was a bunch of hooey. Then I decided to do some internet research including You Tube, and have concluded that "reptilian shapeshifting" is demonic. There are websites that say you can do all of this by demonic rituals including drinking human blood. It then reminded me of a blog I did about Lady Gaga (I think it was last year) where she said she grows these horns and then they go back in. I thought it was a publicity stunt at the time, but even as late as last week, I read that her manager quit saying that she is a satanist and it had all gotten really creepy. Now it all makes a little more sense but you have to think outside the box because the paranormal is going to increase as this world has entered the end times. So, before you cross me (and Glenn Beck) off as crazy, you might look into it all. I admit that there are a lot of stupid links on this as well, so you have to separate the complete bogus from the strange and cannot explain.
But it is all really creepy...

Life as we know it...
Lots of 'fun' news today...
-- Like the Prez's "beast" limo broke down in Israel because the driver put gas in a diesel limo? Wow. In my world, that would get you fired, or at least written up. Who knows for the government, but how embarressing...
-- DHS refuses to answer Congress about its purchase of 1.6 BILLION bullets - ummmm, aren't they supposed to be working for US????
-- African-American abortionist who "snapped newborn babies necks" is crying racist since he's under investigation for murder
-- Beyonce has a new single with the refrain that says "Bow Down Bitches" - uhhhhh, all I can say is that she's chosen "the dark side..."
-- Nasa's advice on asteroid hitting earth: Pray! - Wow... and here we thought our country had so many advanced defense systems... Reminds me of the comet a few weeks ago that we found out about from 2 guys at home and their telescope!! Nasa has become a joke... I have a friend who's son graduated a few years ago from Purdue in rocket science (yes, for real) and he works for Spacex, and confirmed Nasa is a joke...
-- The Northeast is being inundated with snow, but we're supposed to believe in global warming...
-- Just like Benghazi, Obama doesn't seem to care a bit that we lost 8 Marines this week as he tweets a picture of his snack time...
-- Although the new pope said that Catholic politicians that are "pro-Choice (abortion)" could not receive communion, evidently Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi flew to the Vatican and did just that. My question is, were they trying to get turned away to start a big snit on the subject?? Was it just to test the new pope and see if he would back up what he said? Well, I guess they found out...
And lastly, I would like to say a few words about what Rush calls the "low information voter" because I work in a town full of them. They haven't been raised right. They have no manners. They are selfish. They think politics are boring and that it doesn't affect them. They don't vote except possibly for president, so as to appear that they are informed. They have low end jobs and are interested in Hollywood for escape to "see how the other half lives." They love to watch reality shows because it makes them feel better about themselves, (and they secretly want to be on a reality show and become a reality star.) They have been raised by the public school system and have no desire to cure cancer or be a leader in any way - they all want to be pop stars with instant fame and money, yet not work for it. They are lazy and stupid, yet often nice. They have been deceived by the mainstream media because they won't take the time or effort to seek the truth. They love to "party" and don't have strong morals. They have bought what the media has sold them to be tolerant, so think same-sex marriage is just fine and that drugs are fine but not to an excess. Most have been to jail, and the ones that have not, have family members there. They have a disdain for police and don't ever trust them. They are jealous of those with money, and are just fine about them paying all the taxes. They feel entitled to government handouts and are not embarressed to accept them. All of their friends do too. They have no real hope for the future, so they try not to think about it. The minorities are getting more freebies than the whites, so the whites are upset about that. To sum up their slogan, it would be "YOLO - you only live once."
Those of us trying to bring the country back from the edge of destruction are swimming upstream...

Driving Miss Daisy
Yes, we have arrived at the time where, once again, I teach a child to drive... My older two were much better at learning, but DD is just not focusing. At first I thought maybe its because I'm older (and wiser?) but no... She really isn't a good driver yet. I have to remind her to stop at stop signs...
Ugh.....

Are you ready for some football?
There are so many interesting conservative issues I could discuss tonight but I think I want to talk about football. You see most people's eyes glaze over lately with politics. The presidential election is 4 years away, so most are trying to keep their sanity in tact. But football? That's every year. And now "they" are starting rule which will be followed by another rule and so on until its a silly powderpuff flag football league that includes females. We will have to change many of the mascots so that they will be politically correct, and certainly anything including the thought of a Native American. The feminization of Americans won't be complete until "they" completely change (ruin) this masculine game of all guys. All you have to do is look at our military and see where football is headed. Let women in the back door and work them up to the front lines. (Never mind that they have babies and periods and hormones.) Then introduce a "don't ask, don't tell" so that you continue to remove all masculinity. And pass lots of rules about engaging in fighting, so you start discouraging anyone from even signing up. And then make sure they all get to play and all make the same amount of money, because that's how socialism works. Oh and remove all cheerleaders because that looks sexist.
It will be ruined in no time, you'll see...

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit..."
Just read that Hollywood's Jason Biggs, who insulted Mitt Romney's wife and Paul Ryan's wife in the election, is at it again. This time Biggs is insulting the current "Bachelor," who is a self-professed evangelical Christian and virgin since college. Last night was the season finale where Bachelor Sean Lowe from Dallas got down on one knee and asked Catherine Giudici to marry him (previously filmed in November.) After the show, the producer Chris Harrison had a live show to have Sean and Catherine on to talk about their wedding plans. They also got to view November's proposal for the first time, where Sean cried seeing it, and Biggs tweeted: "Sean is crying, as a result of his being a total f*cking gay person."
Hmmmmmm. My main point is that Hollywood and the mainstream media, and actually all liberals, have an all out war against men who wait until marriage to have sex. Men like Tim Tebow, also a born-again Christian, who have decided to follow WHAT IT SAYS TO DO IN THE BIBLE and wait until they are married to have sex, are the target of the libs to ruin their lives. Waiting to have sex is so foreign to all non-born-again Christians, that they cannot even fathom it. And rather than keeping their mouths shut, and not judging people who don't make the same choice, and be tolerant as all liberals claim to be, they attack relentlessly. My heart goes out to these brave men, who are willing to admit their faith, and their beliefs and put it out there. Tebow will surely lose even playing the game of football anymore because his beliefs have caused the mean media to chastise him to the point that all of the other players get jealous of the media attention and denigrate him for not being a "man" because he doesn't womanize like many of them. And, I'm sure it convicts the players who actually have a conscience and know what God's word says.
My secondary point is that Jason Biggs, as a Hollywood insider, is supposed to be gay-friendly but his choice of words say otherwise.
You can't have it both ways, Mr. Biggs...

A picture is worth a thousand words
Just a quick post tonight since my high schooler is doing her homework on our shared iMac so I'm on my iPhone....
I decided to post a photo of Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz on Instagram and hashtagged heroes, saveourcountry, USA, Teaparty & freedom. I kind of have my social media in groupings: my twitter is only political (conservative), my Facebook is sort of positive affirmation & self "marketing?" and Instagram is artsy, silly with children photos and lots of random photos of whatever strikes my fancy for the day. I love to capture sunsets, USA & Texas flags flying, anything funny that I see and, well, for lack of a better phrase, a mobile photo journal. It's my creative outlet, only visual. I put up quotes & inspirational things but mainly I just amuse myself. I have a lot of alone time in sales and it helps in the down time.
Anyway.
When I posted this photo below, I realized my followers are almost all of DD's friends along with my family, but I hashtagged for other viewers. So I was surprised when almost all who liked the photos were from other countries around the world. And they are freedom lovers!! It's why Instagram is my favorite social media. I follow people around the world - in Paris, Israel, Italy, Australia, Germany, Norway, Mexico, and many NYC Photographers to see what their lives are like. We may not all speak the same language, but we unite through photos. It's fascinating.
And hopeful...

"We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right." - Ronald Reagan
I'm feeling more hope for this country than I have in a long time... Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has been filibustering since 11:45 this morning, as promised, after receiving a letter earlier this month from Attorney General Eric Holder that refused to rule out the use of drone strikes within the United States.
Good for him!!! Bravo!!! Woohoooo!! Finally a man with some guts (and eloquence and intelligence) who will stand up for the Constitution!!! I've been on Twitter a lot this evening, and it was SO encouraging to see fellow patriots who believe the same way as I do, sending out words of extreme encouragement. There are some politicians that are standing with him who are Tea Party favorites like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, but not many, which is the sad part of the story. It's men like Cruz and Rubio who have Cuban heritage and know how communism wreaks havoc on a country, that support this wonderful display of freedom of speech and love of the law this country was built upon. It is these kind of people we need to hang our hat on.
And fire ALL of the rest...
